Had a shoot with a couple yesterday. These B&Ws were my favorites.

Little Cowboy

Took these shots of my family friends' five year-old, he loves playing dress up. This little cowboy outfit was absolutely adorable. There's something so cute about kids walking away from you in pictures, so confident and sure of themselves. :)

Santa Fe: Bonanza Creek Ranch

Here are some shots from when I went to Bonanza Creek Ranch, a movie set, with my workshop to shoot with models. Earlier that day, I had stepped on a cactus, so walking around was a bit of a pain. But besides that, this was most definitely my favorite day. The models were so amazing and easy-going, I just loved every minute of working with them!

Studio Work

I just got my first portable studio with the basic umbrella lights and backdrops. These are some shots of a friend that I took the other day. We just worked with the white backdrop, I hope to work with the black one soon.

Santa Fe: Family Time

One of our assignments was to work with a family. This family was so great and the kids were absolutely adorable. I shot with a 50 mm lens/1.8 f, on a Nikon. The workshop lends out Nikon equipment, and my instructor suggested that I work with one so I could see the difference in d.o.f. on a 50 mm lens. I loved the result from that lens, but I gotta say, switching from a Canon to a Nikon just a few hours before was a bit tough. Thankfully, someone in the class had the exact Nikon (D7000), so I had some help.

Santa Fe: Around the Plaza

Got back from a 10-day trip to Santa Fe for a Santa Fe Photography Workshop a few days ago, these are some shots from the around plaza. Bought four pieces of turquoise at the Indian Market. Loved all of the colors and adobe.

She's Got a Pointe...

Had a magnificent photoshoot with a ballet dancer. I had such a great time shooting her! Hope to be getting more dancers wanting pictures soon! I love the look of pointe shoes.

Straw Hat Girl

Bright light from a window is usually not my favorite light to work with, because of the washed-out look. But it is fun on occasion to work with it, especially when your color palette consists of really light shades.
